The nervous system is the first to develop when a baby is conceived!
With an egg from mom and a sperm from dad, the power of our universe begins to multiply to create a whole new human! Their little body knows exactly how to develop, and immediately comes under control of the nervous system to coordinate all other systems as they form.
During what are often labeled "natural" births, doctors may assist the baby out of the womb, using excessive amounts of force to extract their delicate body. This force, coupled with the twisting and bending that occurs, is where a child's first subluxation can develop. Growing kiddos often become subluxated as they challenge themselves to take their next step in development and reach the next milestone. Acquiring the strength to hold up their heavy heads, responding to their surroundings, positioning their bodies in space, and learning to become mobile are all new stresses for their malleable little bodies. Improper positioning of the bones in the spine can cause abnormal tension and stress on the nerves; this complex is called a vertebral subluxation and has been linked to several common childhood conditions including asthma, allergies, ear infections, colic, difficulty breastfeeding, and acid reflux (GERD), in addition to many others. As a chiropractor, Dr Victoria is not looking to cure any of your child's symptoms. Adjustments and entrainments are given to reduce the amount of stress on the nervous system which allows your child's body to heal from the inside out! When we improve the way their body functions, many of the symptoms they struggle with may begin to disappear on their own. |

Adjustments for children are very different than adjustments for adults!
During the visit, you might notice Dr Victoria use very light touches and pressures (about the amount required to check for the ripeness of a tomato) when adjusting the spine of your little human. She has been studying chiropractic care specifically for the pediatric population since 2013, and has a passion for helping children become the best expression of themselves. Every gentle adjustment builds upon the prior adjustment and has the power to change the way their rapidly growing brains experience the world around them; they express the impact through improvement in the way their bodies function (i.e. improved eye contact, social interaction, calmer demeanor, better bowel movements... all the important things!).

Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the spine & nervous system.
Vertebral subluxation (spinal misalignments that cause stress and tension in the nervous system)
can interfere with normal function of the body & may lead to dysfunction; we call these secondary conditions.
can interfere with normal function of the body & may lead to dysfunction; we call these secondary conditions.
These are some of the most common secondary childhood conditions that we see in the office:
ADD/ADHD
Allergies/Asthma Athletic injuries Bed wetting Colic Digestive problems (GERD, acid reflux) Ear infections Emotional health |
Fatigue
Frequent colds Headaches/Migraines Sensory processing disorders Sinus problems Torticollis Trouble sleeping |
We care about how your kiddos are feeling, but we're even
more passionate about the way they are functioning!
